Sponsored Kitties
Scarlett and Paris are fully sponsored cats here at the shelter. That means that a generous person has paid for their adoption fees and you can adopt them for just a donation.
For more information on Scarlett, Paris, and many other wonderful felines check out the adoptable cats page, and stop by the shelter and visit the cats first-hand.

Home Again
Home Again
Oh look, she's coming over,
The pretty lady with the furry hat.
Now I must smile and do my trick
And hope she's looking for a beautiful orange cat.
I can tell by her eyes
That she's a kind soul.
I hang by the bar
To do my roll.
I purr even louder
When she pets my neck.
Then I -- but that's a secret,
That's my other trick.
Kind people are good to us here at the shelter,
But I'd like to have a home again.
To belong to a family, to feel the sun on my face,
And run and play with the children.
Pretty lady is talking to my keeper.
I feel as bright as the sun,
As she smiles and points a finger,
She says, "Yes, I'll take that one."

Pennies for Paws - Still Going!
We've officially brought in our collection containers from our supporters around the county. Our October through December Pennies for Paws fund-raiser brought in a total of 395,000 pennies ($3950)!
We're not stopping there though! We still have a goal of One Million Pennies to reach!
Though collection containers are no longer throughout the county we ARE still accepting any donations of change for Pennies for Paws at the shelter. Please, tell your friends, and spread the word! Keep checking the thermometer to the right for our progress!
We wish to thank all those that supported us in our first Pennies For Paws fundraiser, from housing our collection containers, to dropping off handfuls/buckets of change; you all made a difference.
Look for the collection containers again October through December 2010!

Cat Gazebo
In the past year an exercise area was constructed for the cats in our shelter to spend a few hours a day in.
The "cat gazebo" offers the cats a chance to stretch, play, climb, jump, and just lounge in the sun - all while being sociallized around other cats. Surrounded by windows and filled with toys, carpeted trees and perches, the gazebo provides the cats with a change of scenery, and lots of extra stimuli.
Here's a quick peek inside our cat gazebo / solarium on a lazy afternoon. You can really see the cats here at the shelter are extremely well socialized and super friendly.
A letter from the Chair of our local animal shelter Advisory Committee, Catherine MacNeill, has been posted under the News section. It's a great bit of information about our shelter, how it's run, and how things have been going this year. It also explains ways that you can help!
I finally made use of our Media Releases page and filled it up with links to articles, involving our shelter, that have been posted on the Napanee Guide's website.
We're still collecting pop cans here at the shelter. All pop cans must be rinsed out. They can be dropped off just inside the door at the shelter, 156 Richmond Blvd. Napanee.

WussWolf Designs
A local artist's work is for sale with ALL proceeds going directly to our shelter. Her ongoing selection of various wildlife pyrography (wood-burning) is available for purchase at the L&A Animal Hospital, 11 Commercial Court, Napanee.
The Lennox & Addington branch of the OSPCA is celebrating 80 years this year, and we want your adoption
stories.
Have you or someone you know adopted from our shelter over the years?
How did it go? What did your new furry family member make of it all? If you have any stories and photos
you'd like to share with us we would love to post them here on the website.
We currently only have two adoption stories posted, and with our 80th anniversary we'd like to
fill in those pages with adoptions from the past 80 years.
Every single day animals arrive at the Ontario SPCA Lennox & Addington Branch needing our help. We feed, exercise, bathe, socialize, play with and provide comfort to these abused, neglected and abandoned animals. We drive the wounded and sick to the veterinarian, change bandages, administer medications and monitor their recovery - with the goal of finding each animal a loving home.
Last year hundreds of animals were adopted from the Lennox & Addington Branch Adoption Centre including cats and dogs of all ages, shapes, sizes and breeds, as well as birds, rabbits, guinea pigs and more!
We invite you to drop by the shelter during adoption hours to visit the animals, or browse our site and view our adoptable animals online.
